Things aren't always what you think

Sometime things aren't what you think they are.

Yesterday, I walked into Miss K's room and saw this.

The babies were hanging by the cord on the blinds. I have enough of my father in me to be concerned about safety and wanted to read the warning labels to Miss K and tell her all the dangers the cords on the blinds can cause.

It wasn't what I thought it was. I was later informed that those were not babies hanging from the cord but fairies. Okay, maybe fairies are except from the safety concerns.

So that was last night. Then this morning we are informed that the fairies were flying. It must have been quite a party in there because other things were flying as well or attempting to fly -- lamby, kitty, and rat.

One fairy landed in the gutter.

Others landed on the ground.

Then in the tree we spied rat.

We needed someone who could rescue the fairies. This was the perfect job for the 12 year old brother who has not had anything to climb for months. He did climb on the roof the other day under his mother informed him that he was not to climb there. He was asked to climb there. Since he knew he was not to do that he brought a slip of paper for us to sign giving him permission to climb. I do think he would like to keep his job as fairy rescuer secret.

The fairy was rescued and returned to rest on the closet floor far from the window.

And so life is returned to normal here or as normal as it can be.

This is not really anything new for Miss K. When she was 3 or 4 she would push things out the bars of her bedroom window. Thinking back I know that happened but I don't remember how she got up to the window to do it. The problem was the courtyard below was locked and we could not get in to get baby so we had to call the landlord and he would unlock the courtyard and we would get baby.

Life with Miss K is an adventure and you don't always know where that will take you.
