Back to School Giveaway - UK Residents

I have been reading blogs and seeing all the back to school giveaways. I  look and think how fun it would be to win and dream of how I would use the things in the giveaway but then I see the two little words, US Residents.

Well, I decided that those of us in the UK needed to have a fun back to school giveaway.

I love school supplies. Crayons with points, sharpened pencils ready for math, and fresh notebooks. I pulled a few school supplies to include in the giveaway.

Some crayons, coloured pencils, markers, some bookmarks, a little notebook, some washi tape, and an oilcloth pouch.

We go on some outings and one of the things that we use are our sandwich wraps. These are so easy to use, just put the sandwich on the cloth and then wrap it up and close with the velcro. I have included two sandwich wraps that I made in the giveaway.

The sandwich wraps are large and small. There is no plastic, just use and wash and use again.

So this giveaway is open to UK residents. Leave me a comment telling me about some place educational, historical, or just fun that you enjoy taking your children to for an outing. I need some ideas of fun places to go.

Comments will be open until Thursday evening 7:00 pm. I will then draw a random number for the giveaway.

This is now closed. The winner is comment #8, Sarah.

  1. Often the place is a large local park. But the boys will act out a story they have recently read (this Sunday morning they played 'Swallows and Amazons'. They've been reading 'living books' about explorers, so have been Christopher Columbus, Walter Raleigh and Francis Drake at various times. The park becomes a vast unexplored territory with deep rivers (with crocodiles ready to bite), venomous snakes and dangerous animals. We need to build fires and hunt for and then cook our own food. The stories only know the limits of their imaginations, and I've found as I stand back and watch that these imaginations are incredible

  3. Those sandwich wraps look great. We enjoy being in the outdoors. Hollingworth lake is one of our favourite places. We've done den building, foraging, geocaching, pond dipping and theres a reasonable playground too

  4. I'm intrigued by your sandwich wraps! We like to be outside in nature best. My absolute favourite place is a beach, but we don't live near the coast any more. Failing that somewhere with a stream to paddle in - if you're looking for suggestions of places to visit try Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds. Plenty of paddling opportunity there!

  5. We like visiting our local museums and art galleries. This summer we've visited a Time-ball Tower Museum, that was new to us. We've also been to a Tudor House, National Trust property, a Safari park, the beach, etc. :) A UK residents give-away is a great idea! I love those sandwich wraps much better than disposable plastic bags.

  6. Once a year we visit a city and visit some of the main sites of interest. It's great fun! Edinburgh has the wonderful pandas and history in every step. York is similar with many interactive museums (including medieval smells - yuk!) and chocolate. Yum!

  7. One of our favourite places to visit is the Weald and Downland Museum in Sussex. This is a large site where old buildings from Kent and Sussex have been reconstructed. The feel is of an old fashioned village and it is possible to wander in and out of the buildings as well as watch Tudor style cooking or visit a charcoal burners' camp. Definitely a whole day visit and highly recommended.

  8. We love Walsall Art Museum. free entry. A dedicated children's activity room which includes dressing up clothes. Rucksacks to borrow with activities based on various exhibitions. An art cart which moves around the museum on different days so you have to search for it. Very friendly staff and a great family day out.

  10. I love school supplies too and I especially love new crayola crayons!! I miss being able to buy the big boxes of 64 or 96!! The colours are gorgeous with periwinkle, mac n cheese, purple mountain majesty and so on =)
As for outings, my boys love any forests they can get too. The Lickey Hills is their favourite, though I love getting out to the National Trust properties!!

  11. Our favourite place would be RHS garden, which after paying a very reasonable yearly price it is free for that year. My son is in gardener's heaven!
